Electrogalvanization

Galvanizing is the electrochemical process by which a metal can be covered with another. The galvanized function is to protect the metal surface on which the process is done. The most common galvanized involves depositing a layer of iron and zinc which, when the oxidizable zinc, less noble than iron generates a stable oxide that protects the iron from oxidation upon exposure to oxygen.
